Electronic Waste Recycling
The City of Hesperia is proud to offer FREE electronic waste recycling events four times each year. These events provide all San Bernardino County residents and businesses with a convenient and easy opportunity to drop off unlimited approved e-waste items for free. This is the perfect opportunity to recycle electronic items that have been collecting in store rooms and closets.
What is E-Waste?
"E-waste" is any consumer electronic device or equipment that has reached its "end-of-life" or "end-of-usage," whether in working or non-working condition. Many electronic products become obsolete within a very short period of time, creating a large surplus of unwanted e-waste. Disposing of e-waste in landfills has the potential to cause severe human and environmental health impacts. E-waste frequently contains hazardous materials, predominately lead and mercury, and is produced by households, governments, and industries. If e-waste is not disposed of properly, dangerous substances inside of them can seep into the ground, contaminating the water supply and surrounding area. This is particularly important in Hesperia where our drinking water is pumped directly from the ground.
The State of California has prohibited e-waste in landfills. Instead, e-waste must be given to licensed e-waste handlers that provide environmentally responsible e-waste solutions for the public, government agencies, corporations, health care organizations and other e-waste handlers.

The HHW Facility is open from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Electronic waste from businesses is not accepted at the Hesperia HHW Facility. Businesses with e-waste - contact San Bernardino County at (909) 382-5401 to schedule an appointment in San Bernardino for proper disposal. Fees apply.
